Normally I'd say something witty here, but I don't think I will this time around.
I guess I'll go ahead and start with the biggest thing on my mind for this year: my dog, Cody, passed away from a heart attack. I still habitually glance at his bed, expecting to find him sleeping quietly whenever I walk past it.
Someday I'll have a better place to put deeply personal thoughts in a public place other than FimFiction. But I honestly can't imagine where. There's just something about freely posting my feelings on a subsection of the internet devoted to fanfiction for a cartoon show for little girls. Any person that would make an account on such a strange place must be a pretty good person.

Is it starting to become a tradition that this gets delayed? I honestly can't tell. I did have a good reason for it, though. I drove back to Pennsylvania to celebrate the holidays with family, and since getting there on the 22nd, this is my first genuinely free day where I'm not doing anything. But that's for another unpleasant reason. I survived the winter madness that destroyed I-95 yesterday (and last night, and today...), and on hour 9 of my 3.5 hour drive, got home extremely late, and then
Well, I guess just like last year, this one is a little late (I like to get these done before the year actually ticks over), and for pretty much the same reasons: family, friends, and planning for my annual NYE party. But now that the party's done and the hangover has subsided, I can actually sit down and write my thoughts and review of 2018, much like I've done much before. So if you enjoy these blogs, strap on in and get ready to relive 24's year of 2018 and see what I have to say about it.
Here we are again. Despite some appearances to the contrary, I did in fact survive the massacre that was 2016. Where many famous and notable figures left us to this year's bloodlust, I was spared. Even if I was puking like 18 hours ago, I only have to survive another 1.5 hours to make it into next year.

Another year, another donut... or something like that.
This year's been quite the busy year for me. Between the usual college drumroll; drafting out plans for upcoming stories; growing increasingly dissatisfied with, and then rediscovering my enjoyment in my premier story series, A Song of Storms, it's been a year of ups and downs, but it's mostly been for the better. And now, as the final hours of 2015 wane away on us, it's time to look back at everything 2015 has brought.
So, uh, this is a little late. Normally I try to post these before the year ends, but with a combination of family, friends, and party preparations taking up all of my time from Christmas until today, I haven't had the chance to. It's a miracle I've been able to stay on top of my daily writing obligations through it all. I cut it close, but we're still going.
So, I had a time this year.
Let's start at the beginning. I was in the middle of a gap year in my studies. Basically, I didn't finish a singular math prerequisite fast enough, so I had to wait a full year to get into courses that are only offered in the fall. Two semesters idle, not really moving forward in pursuit of my dream career. I wasn't in the best emotional place a year ago.
